August 23 2010: Things seem to be getting interesting with one of the first real tropical lows taking place in the cape verde (Hot spot) area. This storm will soon strengthen into a major hurricane. Its path seems to be a classic east mover maybe on a Florida/Caribbean course. Given the favorable ocean temps and enviroment its moving through it should strengthen quite rapidly the next few days before it enters the western atlantic. I am watching this one closely. I might have to head out for it, given things setup right. First real system of the year!

August 18 2010: I havent had a chance to get to the new chase accounts yet. I have been anwsering emails and working on adding a bunch of new images. I have had alot of none chase related work on the side I had to complete! So all 2010 chase accounts should be up really soon. New software and a few website bugs had me busy in between everything else. I actually missed some pretty decent stuff late in the season because of some side projects I picked up for extra money. LOL. Oh well.  I am hoping we have some decent chaeses coming up here soon. I can't wait for some cold core events later in the fall season too.

Iowa has had major flooding issues again this year, as IN has been very dry the month of august. Moisture hasnt been an issue as heat pounds most of the eastern and southern US. Moisture only increases the issue raising the heat indices exponentially. Heat and Humidity (moisture) are computed to gauge the temperature added values. Whats important is Mans potential to cool down through persperation is slowed down by the moisture content in the air mass. Higher humidity, higher moisture content, means our sweat cant evaporate! So we sweat and cant cool down, through evaporation. Heat kills more people than all the severe weather combined. On any given year. This year especially has been record breaking in many places for stretchs of heat waves. Heat waves have been plaguing our planet this year. We are not alone as many other counrtys may even be getting it worse than us! What I wonder is? Is it related to the suns current solar cycle? The sun has just recently come out of solar minimum! And seems to be waking up violently! With lots of solar activity daily. We will see though. As the solar maximum steadily increases. What that means for us?!
