Kukumah, Russiaville, IN
French & Indian war reenactment
It started out as a beautiful day, a beautiful day for battle!
The fog had rolled in shortly before sunrise and had dissapated shortly after. On my way to Kokomo here snapping shots out my window. I was on my way to pick up my little brother and his girlfriend. After that we headed to Russiaville, or rather just outside to a place called Kukumah.
Not hard to tell from the dress what this place is all about. The places main attraction, and why we had come, was the reenactment. But there were also tons of things to see and do, most of them being french and indian war era things.
Travelers Band, father, son, and mother team playing some old folk music. These guys actually played at my brothers memorial service. They might even have played at his wedding. Nice to see them again!
The french preparing for battle!
Fortifications being prepared by the french.
The battle begins!
Driving the french back the red coats advance forward!
The british soon tried to take the bridge and were shot down. This along with heavy casualities all along the front lead to the british retreat. The french had won the day!
Posing for me! Indians just chilling after the battle.
I had fun, LOL. I think I was a little close to the action during the end of the battle. At one point they were fighting around me. I have included a video below, which you will see how close I actually was during the end. I did enjoy myself and got some decent shots I think. Makes me want to do more of this stuff in the future. Maybe next I will do a civil war reenactment?
