These images I shot while I was
out with my sister and mother. They have horses boarded just outside of
Crawfordsville, a mare and a young colt about a year old. The rest of
these images were shot on easter. It was nice and sunny, which made it
a decent day with 40 degree temps. Towards the end of the day there was
actually some vertical depth to the cumulus field. The cumulus were
actually dropping big snowflakes, some of it was evaporting before it
hit the ground which made some nice virga. I dont know if it was
sublimating or melting before it evaporated but Im sure it was a bit of
both. What was getting to the ground were big snowflakes. Virga usually
happens with high cloud bases and a dry layer underneath. The dry layer
is so low in humidity that it will literally act like a spong, soaking
up the precip.
